Members'  BRAGS!

April 2010
Sharon reports a hearty congratulations are in order for our member Wendy and her partner Uri having achieved their C-ATCH Title (Canine Performance Event's Agility Trial Champion) today!!!! We believe this is the first time this honor has been achieved by a member of our club!!! We witnessed the running of the last leg, and it was inspiring. Uri, you do us proud!

Linda K reports the good news is Quail Run Merry N Bright, known as Ikapi, finished her championship on Friday with a Best of Winners and a 3 point major! Kapi is owned by Laura Nel.

Wendy reports Uri posted another great triumph in Wilsonville this past weekend. He got 7 of 8 qualifiers and first places. Suni did great too, getting 6 of 8 qualifiers. SHe is sqarely in level 4 and 5 now in all races. Eli will be eligibly to begin racing in October, we think he may outdo Uri, but we'll see.
Linda K also reports CKC Ch. Quail Run Hearts Aloft, known as Woody, was here just beginning work on his AKC title. Woody belongs to Caryll Forbes in Canada. Woody was Group 2 today, Sunday, out of the classes, over nationally ranked specials for a 5 point major!! Thanks to Pat Gignac who expertly piloted Woody to his win

Just a quick brag. My boy, Uri, managed to get 8 out of 10 perfect runs this weekend at the outdoor trial in Eugene. He accumulated 8 Qualifying legs towards his level 5 title and his championship with CPE (Canine Performance Events) is within sight now. WE CAN ALMOST TASTE IT !! It takes over 120 qualifying legs to get to championship, with the last 40 being in level 5 and the most difficult, longest courses that have to be run without any mistakes at all.
We are within about 15 qualifying legs of his championship. If we can get to enough CPE trials this summer/fall, we could get it done.

Miss Muffett and I had an awesome Rally run on Saturday, scoring a 98 and earning 2nd place and our Advanced title! Sunday we made our 1st attempt at Excellent and also earned a leg, and more importantly, made it through the Honor sit! I'm very proud of my little girl.
Linda K. reports that Can Ch Stavonga Dom Perignon at Quail Run was Reserve Best In Show and Best Opposite yesterday at the COTW Sacramento show, under breed specialist Brian Rix of Rixbury Cavaliers UK.
On Friday he was the Spec Limit Blen class winner for his class points.
All the other QRunners have been flying the flag for us all weekend!
JKO was short listed for WB on Friday, as was Emma.
Kristi's Brodie was Best Puppy In Show on Friday under Gill Baker, UK, and qualified for Puppy of the Year 2009.

Sharon reports:
Saturday, Pixelle earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certification. It was touch and go for a while, as we've been told, Pixelle seemed to be considering a 'comment' on her separation from her owner. But a cooler mind prevailed, and she passed with flying colors!
She has career aspirations of working with the Delta Society to help children learning to read, and perhaps working in pet-asssisted therapy

Molly Reports:
Miss Muffett and I earned a 3rd Place (lost the tie break for 2nd because our time was a little slower) in Sunday's Advanced Rally trial. it was our 1st time in the Advanced category which was a new challenge because it was off-leash! I'm just so grateful there was no Figure 8 with food on the floor to walk around.

Wendy J:
Folks, Hilary and Pippen are poetry in motion. They scored a 98 out of 100 points on the rally run that I watched. It was only the slightest hint that Pippen might sit down on one turn that faulted the two points. Other than that, they were perfect. It was fun to watch and has me now enthused about starting my kids in rally.
Congrats Hilary, you and Pippen are fantastic.
And before you respond with much of the same back to me. I will share with the club that Uri ran four fault-less runs over in the agility rings at the RC trail. He took all four first place ribbons and finished his Open Agility Title this weekend. It was also scary to be performing in front of such huge crowds. Uri wasn't phased at all, but I was nervous. But it was fun to have some of the club members there rooting us on.

 Hillary
Pekoe, Aussie, got his Novice obedience title at Rose City with two first places. Yeah. For those of you that don't know, it has been a challenge since a fight broke out in groups over a year ago when he was in the ring. (No, Pekoe was not involved - he high tailed it out the ring at the time of the incident.) Totally shattered his confidence. Pekoe is still stressed in groups, but I am thinking it could eaily be me, sending him my nervous vibes.

Linda
Quail Run Royal Colonial (Ben - Rock Star!) was Winners Dog AND Best of Winners for a 4 point Major. YEAH!!!!!!
We are on the 3rd day, and Ben was WD again for 2 points! WooHoo!!

Doug:
Hi All Thought you would like to know that my Bobby, Juette New Tricks went Best In Show at the weekend at Spennymoor Open Show, all breeds

Wendy:
Just wanted to share that at the WAG Corvallis agility trail today, both Uri and Suni pulled off a perfect 4 for 4 qualifying runs with all top three finishes too. Uri is competing in the highest level of CPE, that would equal a superior or excellent level and Suni has moved fully into the intermediate levels on all races. It was quite the hat trick today........ even in the cold foggy day in Corvallis.
Our newest member, Eli, the 4 month old ruby has already started his foundation classes for agility.

Molly
Miss Muffett and I took first at the Salem show in the Rally Novice A
category! We had a much better run than in Vancouver (the dirt/horse
manure floor was WAY more interesting than i was), and I feel like we
truly earned our RN. Although we may have gotten an extra point or two
for the cuteness factor- there's nothing like a wagging cavalier tail!

Adrianne
Jack's invitation to Westminster came in the mail on Thursday!!!
Since you are all my friends and my two English Cockers are more or less adopted Cavaliers, I want to share (BRAG!!!) that my Jack (Calypso's Fortunate Series of Events) finished his championship on Sunday at the Del Valle shows with a 3 pt. major, his 4th major win.

Wendy:
This weekend, Uri nearly got a quad qualifier weekend. He got 3 of 4 qualifiers and all were first place finishes. He could have gotten the last qualifier but he decided that irregardless of the direction I was sending him, he much preferred the other end of the tunnel. Oh well. This weekend Uri finished his level 4 title for Fullhourse and is now in level 5 for that and nearly finished with all the rest of his legs for level 4 titles.
Suni has really taken off lately, she finished her level 3 title for Fullhouse and Jumpers category and is now in level 4 for those. In fact, on her jumpers race, she was only 3 seconds slower than Uri. She has really taken it up a notch.

Sharon:
Pixelle Q'ed, and attained her first title in CPE agility, by
placing second in Standard at the 12" category. In addition she Q'ed,
and took home a first place blue ribbon in the CPE Colors at the 12"
level agility event. You should have seen those ears flying! We're
tired but so proud!

Hilary:
Pippin got his Novice Standard title this past weekend (NA) at the AKC trial
in HR. He got his third leg on Friday, but Saturday he totally embarrassed
me in the ring. There were some low flying birds (swallows) that he was
having fun attempting to chase while we were out for walks at the trial site.
We got in the ring, got over one jump, and then his eyes caught a glimpse a
swallow and he was a goner............ I called him back over to me, he came
and then he spotted ANOTHER bird on the other side of the ring. So off he
went. I had to turn to the judge and tell her that as soon as I got him
under control I would be excusing ourselves. Bird dog!!!! He had to go
to "doggie jail" for that -- in other words a crate with NO cookies.
Well, he salvaged himself for the jumpers run, but no q, but at least we were
able to finish the course.
I kept him in Novice Standard for Sunday rather than move him up. He nailed
it with a clean run!!! YEAH!!! Insurance leg!
We are in open for JWW, but the courses are a little more than he can handle
at this point, so we just go out and play. Who knows, maybe we will get
lucky one of these days. :-)
I do have to keep reminding myself he is only two years old, and still a LOT
of puppy.

Miss Muffett and I went to our 1st official Rally O competition at
Stumptown- and we got 2nd in Novice A! I was very surprised as we did
abyssmally in our practice run at the rally run throughs at Puarazzi the week
before. Apparently my girl knows when to pull it out.

Linda:
We all had a good weekend in Stumptown, with lots of winning, lots of great prizes supplied by the OTCC, and lots of fun!
On Saturday, Adrianne's Jack was Best of Breed out of the classes (over some very nice specials) and BOW for a 5 point major. He then went on to a Group 4, all handled by our friend Kristi Klaus!!! We will have some nice pics going up on the website when we get them.
Ame's JKO was Reserve Winners Bitch on Saturday, to a 5 point major.
Lori's Ana won her AM Bred class both days of the show.
I got this from Uri; I did fantastic at my agility trial in Newport this weekend. Got 6 qualifiers, 5 first places and 1 second place. We camped out at the site (middle school) and it was a blast...... but the grass was wet and cold in the mornings.
I am so proud of him!
